ಸಿರಸಿ: ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಜತೆಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುವುದು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಸಾಧನೆಗೆ ಬಲ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಆ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆನರಾ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ನ ‘ವಿದ್ಯಾಜ್ಯೋತಿ’ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪಂಗಡದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ನಗರದ ಕೆನರಾ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಕಚೇರಿ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಸಿ.ಪಿ. ಬಜಾರ್ ಶಾಖೆಯ ಸಭಾಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಅನುದಾನಿತ ಶಾಲೆಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರಿಗೆ ಈ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ವಿತರಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಡೆಯಿತು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಡಿ.ವೈ.ಎಸ್ ಪಿ ಗೀತಾ ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಲ್ಲೊಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ಅಡಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ಪೋಷಿಸಿ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಮುಂದಿನ ಸಾಧನೆಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ ಹಾಗೂ ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಭವಿಷ್ಯ ರೂಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.

ಕೆನರಾ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ನ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಲೀನೇಶ್ ಆರ್. ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ‘ವಿದ್ಯಾಜ್ಯೋತಿ’ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ ಕಳೆದ 20 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ 38 ಶಾಖೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ 228 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಟ್ಟು 9.12 ಲಕ್ಷ ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.

5ರಿಂದ 7ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಲಾ ₹3,000 ಹಾಗೂ 8ರಿಂದ 10ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಲಾ ₹5,000 ನಗದು ಪ್ರತಿಭಾ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಖಾತೆ ಹೊಂದುವ ಜತೆಗೆ ಶಾಲಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡಿ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆನರಾ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ನ ವಿವಿಧ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕಿ ಚೈತ್ರಾ ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಡಿವಿಷನಲ್ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜರ್ ರಾಜೇಶ್, ಹಿರಿಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಸಂಜಯ್, ಮುಖ್ಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಕೌಶಿಕ್ , ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಕಚೇರಿಯ ಜಗದೀಶ್, ಬ್ರಾಂಚ್ 2 ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜರ್ ನಾಗರಾಜ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಕರದಿ ಅವರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಆರಂಭಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಕೌಶಿಕ್ ವಂದನಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.

Canara Bank Felicitates Meritorious Girl Students Under Vidyajyothi Scheme

SIRSI: Recognising and encouraging talent alongside education can provide a strong foundation for children to achieve their goals in the future. With this objective, Canara Bank distributed merit awards to talented girl students from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities under its ‘Vidyajyothi’ scheme.

The award distribution programme was held at the conference hall of Canara Bank’s C.P. Bazaar branch in Sirsi for students from government and government-aided schools falling under the bank’s regional office jurisdiction.

Speaking at the programme, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Geetha Patil said every talented child possesses a unique ability that needs to be identified, nurtured and given the right opportunities. She urged students to work hard, develop self-confidence and strive to build a bright future.

Canara Bank Regional Manager and Assistant General Manager Leenesh R. said the bank has been encouraging meritorious students through the Vidyajyothi scheme for the past 20 years. Currently, a total of ₹9.12 lakh is being distributed to 228 students through 38 branches under the regional jurisdiction, he said.

Under the scheme, students from Classes 5 to 7 are given a cash merit award of ₹3,000 each, while students from Classes 8 to 10 receive ₹5,000 each. Leenesh urged students to maintain bank accounts, give priority to their education and strive to achieve recognition at the national and international levels.

During the programme, Canara Bank branch managers Chaitra Patil and Vivekananda briefed the gathering about various schemes offered by the bank.

Divisional Manager Rajesh, Senior Manager Sanjay, Chief Manager Kaushik, Jagadish from the regional office, Branch-2 Manager Nagaraj and other bank staff were present.

The programme began with a prayer by Karadi, while Chief Manager Kaushik proposed the vote of thanks.
